Meet Our Team

We embark with clients to discover the real cause of their challenges, and together we outline achievable strategies to bring about change. Though the therapist provides essential help and perspective, real change is achieved outside the office; therapy is merely a journey in discovering how to get there.

I take a direct approach to treatment. Although eclectic in style, I am most closely attached to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). We will focus on the thought processes and behavioral responses that are contributing to the life dissatisfaction you are experiencing. I am solution-focused. The atmosphere will be empathetic, but our goal will be to effect change in your life. We may discuss your childhood, family relationships, or specific losses and grievances, only to the extent necessary to understand what is happening now.
We will look at your past, but our focus will be on the present and working towards a healthy and successful future. The relationship you have with your therapist will be one of the most important factors in determining whether or not therapy will be effective for you. It is important you find a therapist who you can feel comfortable. Our meetings will be conversational, friendly, relaxed, and upbeat. If after our first meeting you don't feel that you connected well therapeutically, we will work together to find you a therapist to help you achieve your goals.

I firmly believe in the power of connection, mindfulness and acceptance.  I enjoy using a strengths-based approach to help individuals utilize their resilience and increase the quality of their lives.
I strive to create an environment that will foster a trusting therapeutic relationship as I work with children and families, couples, older adults, and those facing cancer (including their primary caregiver(s)).
When working with anxiety, depression, and trauma, I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Expressive Therapy, and Mind-Body Bridging.
I look forward to working together as we build upon the foundation of awareness and self care you have created by seeking therapy.

Life is beautiful, complicated, difficult, fun, and filled with every emotion in between.  With that in mind, I approach each client's therapy with an individualized view.  In dealing with children, adolescents, adults, families, or those with many years of life experience, I strive to help them identify their strengths.
Utilizing solution focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness approaches to treatment, I aim to treat all people with respect and kindness.  Together we can collaboratively help you obtain your goals and tackle the difficulties of life.
After all, therapy is cool, and it can benefit everyone, if they are willing to let it.

My approach to therapy is emphatic, collaborative, and unique to each individual's own needs.  I believe the most important component of effective counseling is a genuine relational connection.  I strive to create a therapeutic environment in which clients feel comfortable, respected, supported and understood so that they may actively explore personal issues and experiment with new ways of thinking and behaving.
Too often we spend our lives living either in the past or in the future, and consequently struggling with feelings of depression or anxiety.
I will work with you to help you learn how to spend more time in the here and now.  I utilize various components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Mindfulness techniques with a Psychodynamic approach.
I believe strongly in empowerment and the human capacity for adjustment and change.  Together I am confident that we can make a difference!

I find people are often more capable and resilient than they realize. My approach to therapy is collaborative, eclectic and person-centered. I utilize evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help clients feel empowered.
I have experience working alongside teens and their families, couples, and adults with different concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship conflict and life transitions. I am also trained in EMDR.
I recognize the importance of the therapeutic relationship and understand it can be difficult to initiate therapy. I strive to create an empathetic and candid atmosphere where clients feel safe and respected to promote change and growth.

I believe that every person in this world is born with an inner voice that lets them know what they need to do in their lives. I work with a more eclectic approach using CBT, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy to help someone rediscover their own inner voice. I bring compassion, understanding, patience and a non-judgmental attitude to the session, because I believe that every human being deserves respect. I work with adults as individuals and as couples, and with interracial couples. I have a passion to serve our LGBTQ community and their families.
I also work with eating disorders, depression, anxiety and grief and loss. I know that not all of us go through the same experiences in life, nevertheless, with evidence based practices, we can rediscover our inner voice to help ourselves, even when we feel stuck.
I am bilingual in English and Spanish. Así pues, podemos trabajar juntos para buscar la mejor manera de hallar las respuestas a las preguntas que tenga, sin preocuparnos por la barrerea del idioma.

My approach to the therapeutic process is one of compassion, openness and focus on all facets of each individual or relationship.  I believe the honoring of our most authentic and vulnerable selves is what brings the most clarity, and frees us of our shame, fear and doubt.  We are able to show up more fully in our lives and and relationships when we take a holistic approach to our healing, as each person's light and dark sides are fundamental and worthy of attention.  I will walk beside you on your journey to restoration and re-connection through a person-centered approach, with direct yet gentle (and often humorous) feedback.
I believe each individual and couple is the expert on their own unique experience.  I do not claim to have all of the answers to your deepest struggles and desires (or how to reconcile the two), but I do believe the answers lie within you.  I will simply act as your guide as you locate these profound personal truths within yourself, and your relationships.
Through these self-identified truths, my hope is that you will be empowered to create meaningful and lasting change within yourself, your relationships, and your life.  I highly value the therapeutic relationship, and if you do not see your journey as being most productive with my approach, we will work together to find someone who can better suit your needs.

As as therapist, I like to take an approach that views you as a "whole" and all of the components     that make you, you. By understanding the role that relationships, lifestyle, environment,           communities and your personal experiences have on who you are as a person, we can better identify the consistent and stable variables in your life. I aim to guide you in exploring yourself and ultimately becoming the greatest version of yourself. The atmosphere will be comfortable, compassionate, direct and authentic. Change is possible, and I would love to work with you to help in achieving these results.

Whether dealing with anxiety/depression, addiction, relationship mishaps, or trauma, we will endure and push through any obstacle to accomplish your goals. Spanish speaker.

We can initially meet, and if you don't feel like we connect, then I will help you to find a therapist that best meets your needs. Let's take this first step together and see what possibilities exist for the rest of your life.

I enjoy working with adults who are dealing with the after-effects of chronic trauma through childhood.  This can mean high levels of emotional reactivity, intrusive memories of difficult past events, and difficulties in obtaining and maintaining important interpersonal relationships.
My ideal client is looking for ways to feel safe and secure in the world and to, as Dr. Marhsa Linehan would say, "build a life worth living."  I also feel confident working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety and other interpersonal issues.
I work with trauma and other clients using a dynamic three-phase model as described by Dr. Judith Herman.  Namely, we work dynamically through helping to build safety and stability in the present, remember and mourn the past, and learn skills for building the life that the client wants in the future.
I will also use EMDR when appropriate and beneficial.
Together we will create the plan to help you achieve the goals you are seeking.  Change is possible.  Even for you.  I would be honored to help you in your journey.
